ADS Education – the other side of what we do

Sometimes the research that we do can overshadow the fact that we have a very strong education and training team who does a lot of great work. Ably supported by our wonderful Admin team (never underestimate the importance of Admin!), our Senior Lecturers deliver a wide range of courses throughout the year.

Preparation is key

Before a course takes place, a lot of work goes on behind the scenes. We always strive to ensure that our training is up-to-date, incorporating the latest information, reports and research findings. Putting research into practice is part of what we do, and gives us a strong connection between the research and education aspects of our work.

We also try to make our courses interactive and practical, including exercises and project work where appropriate. Our Admin team seems to get all the necessary resources to the right place at the right time, which is no mean feat!

Travel – here, there and everywhere

Where our training takes place means that our Senior Lecturers are definitely well-travelled. We teach on a variety of courses within the University of Worcester itself, including our own modules. We also deliver training within the local area, numerous locations across the UK, and we’re even starting to venture abroad which is exciting.

While we value and recognise the importance of face-to-face training, we’re also exploring options for e-learning and blended learning so watch this space…

The hard work is worth it

We were working it out the other day and realised that we’ve reached over 5,600 course participants!! That’s hugely impressive and we’re hearing some great stories about how people have been able to use what they’ve learnt to make a difference. Sometimes we even have an unexpected impact as one of our earlier blog posts demonstrates.

In addition, 99.6% of respondents would recommend our courses to others, so well done to everyone involved in our education and training. Who knows how things will develop in the future!
